Moving day

Finally set up in our own place we can unpack our suitcases. There is a lot of red tape to getting settled here.We have ended up in a nice place though. The balcony is way bigger than what we can ever use and is quite a chore to keep clean with all the dust in the air this time of year. Being that we have close to1/2 of the roof we have lots of outside space. We are high enough escape the mosquitos most of the time and we get a good breeze and view.

Getting around Pune

We had our guide book and map in hand with the plan to see something interesting in the city of Pune. Loaded with this information we ran into a small dilemma. First our driver didn't speak English, no problem I'll point at the map, nope, most of the taxi drivers cant read either English or a map. OK, i pointed at the picture of the fort which i could not pronounce the name. Well we did not get to where we intended but never less we were not disappointed. Only the outer walls and gateway of this compound still stand. inside there are the outlines of the foundations of the buildings that are now gone. This is right in the heart of the old city.

Out on the street we take a short walk to a beautiful Hindu temple. We enjoy walking the crowded streets, watching the locals to get some pointers on how to cross these busy streets. We browse the shops which can furnish just about anything you might need, someone will be able to help you find what you want.

January 30 or was it February 1st? we kinda lost track of time. We flew 16 hours against the clock with a years worth of luggage. Last time we went away for an extended trip we had the boat to put all our things in. This time we had to by a bunch of suitcases. The company put us into a temporary apartment until we locate one of our own.
